Michael S. Champney M.D. F.A.C.S
Dr. Champney has been with DeKalb Surgical Associates since 2003. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, and earned his medical degree at
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his surgical residency at the
Vanderbilt University Medical Center serving as chief resident in 2002-2003.
He is board certified in general surgery and is a
Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
He is currently section chief of the the department of general surgery at
DeKalb Medical Center. He also serves as the Cancer Liaison Physician at
DeKalb for the Commission on Cancer.
Dr. Champney has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery and laparoscopic colon surgery. He is a member of the DeKalb Medical
Society, Southeastern Surgical Society, and Medical Association of Georgia,
and is on staff at DeKalb Medical Center
and Northside Hospital.
